This relieves the driver by virtually eliminating the need to react to manually operate the wiper lever in the rain or the light switch in the dark (tunnels garages twilight). HELLA offers various sensor types that are optimally tailored to the respective vehicle. The installation situation and the characteristics of the windscreen to which the sensors are attached are always checked very individually in close consultation with the motor vehicle manufacturer. From HELLA's perspective the light function of the RLS is safety-relevant according to ISO 26262. Structure and function: The rain sensor is used to detect different rain situations in the sensor area and thus controls the front windscreen wipers. Intervention by the driver is virtually no longer necessary.
