Winter Tread Wear Indicator
New tread pattern
The road surface is constantly changing so we’ve designed a tyre with an asymmetrical tread pattern to match. This includes slits or sipes that are 20% thicker on the inside of the tyre. These work with a new design of tread block in the middle and inside of the tyre to increase traction on snow.
Spacers: the final frontier?
We push boundaries by designing our tyres. An example is the innovative spacers in the tyre’s slits or sipes. This increases how much snow the tyres bite into by about 20%. The results are better traction and cornering in the snow.
Innovative ingredients
The new wet polymer used to make ContiWinterContact™ TS 810 improves performance in the wet without compromising the tyre’s behaviour in snow. The ultra-active carbon black component makes the tyre more consistent during driving. And reactive plasticisers increase the tyre’s flexibility and life span.
Treading safely in the wet
We’ve come up with a special tread concept to improve grip in the wet. And to reduce the risk of aquaplaning, we’ve adapted the number of grooves around the ContiWinterContact™ TS 810 to its width. Tyres up to 225mm wide have three grooves, those that are larger have four.

The amount of tread is vital if winter tyres are to perform at their best. Our Tread Wear Indicators (TWI) clearly show when the tyre’s tread has worn down beyond safe limits
