- Fuel efficiency - Passes fuel economy M111FE (CEC-L-54-T-96) with a minimum of 2.5% fuel efficiency improvement (average of three results).
- Passes the ASTM Sequence VIA (ASTM D6891) with a 1.3 % minimum improvement, or approval against the ASTM Sequence VIB (ASTM D6837) requirements of ILSAC GF-3.
- Engine wear and durability -Passes the ASTM ball rust test (ASTM D6557) for engine rust. Passes the ASTM VIII bearing corrosion (ASTM D6709) for bearing weight loss. Passes sequence IVB wear test (ASTM D8350) for valvetrain wear.
- Engine cleanliness -Passes oxidative stability requirements of Sequence IIIG test (ASTM 7320). Passes sequence VH sludge test (ASTM D8256) for engine sludge and varnish, plus Sequence IVB wear test (ASTM D8350) for valvetrain wear
- Soot Control - Passes DV6C oil dispersion at medium temperature test (CEC L-106-16).
- Shell Helix HX7 Professional AF for gasoline and diesel engines is approved against the technically challenging in-house Ford engine oil specifications WSS-M2C-913 A/B.
